Wisconsin Democrats are Repeating Their Sneaky Ways, Will they Succeed Yet Again?

Those of us who have been around the political world for a while can remember all the different tactics the Democrats use to gain the upper hand in elections. Normally, Democrats focus their efforts on large urban areas such as Milwaukee and Madison, but recently they have added other urban areas such as Green Bay, Racine, Kenosha and Wausau.  All of these communities have Democrat Mayors.

Republicans have not been able to compete with these ID and turnout efforts, and have lost 11 of the last 12 statewide elections as a result.  Republicans have been left being reactive after votes have been cast.  All of these Democrat Mayors are up next April and Republicans need to priorities their defeat along with maintaining the crucial Supreme Court seat.

Who can forget the 2012 recall election where the Democrats pulled out all stops and brought in hundreds of white vans from Illinois to ‘take people to the polls.’ Even Congresswoman Gwen Moore’s son was involved.  We all knew they were there and what they were trying to do.  In response, Republicans showed up to polls in such overwhelming numbers in other parts of the state to neutralize these nefarious activities.

The Republicans were once again able to stem the tide in 2016 based largely on turnout in suburban and rural areas that helped Donald Trump become the first Republican to win Wisconsin since Ronald Reagan. Unfortunately, this would be the last time.

Naturally, the Democrats stopped trying to skirt election laws, right? Of course, they didn’t, they never stop in their constant quest for power. Ever since, we have seen what lengths the Democrats would go through in order to get that power. For Democrats, the ends – winning – always justifies the means.  Too bad Republicans don’t play politics the same way.

In 2018, they added pot referendums in the largest cities and counties, to get increase Democrat turnout and votes.  This was a major contributor to the Scott Walker loss, to say nothing of the 2 AM drop of ‘just enough’ Democrat votes to win. In 2020, we saw things like preventing ballot access for the Green Party, moving ballot counting to ‘central count locations, allowing voters to claim ‘indefinitely confined’ in order to skirt voter ID. On top of that, we saw ballot harvesting on steroids and the ever famous $ millions of “Zuckerbucks’ targeted to Democrat cities.

This all lead to the Democrats reclaiming Wisconsin and led to outcries for investigations into the activities.

What the Democrats saw was absolutely no punishment for their nefarious  activities in 2020. Even during the Gableman investigations looking into the 2020 elections, several clerks literally IGNORED over 90 subpoenas.  Not one clerk came in to discuss things like private funding, not one. Evers even told them to lawyer up and they were able to hide how they infiltrated the election clerk office in several cities without repercussions.

Well, it looks like the Democrats are, once again, emboldened to game the election system and they seem to be doing retreads of old tactics. This morning, Fox 6 Reporter, Jason Calvi, Tweeted that Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson will be using a ‘private grant to conduct ‘door to door canvassing to “urge” people to vote.’

Milwaukee Mayor Johnson says city will be using a private grant to conduct door-to-door canvassing to urge people to vote. “I’m not asking anybody to cast their ballots for 1 party or another or 1 candidate or another. What I’m asking is for people to participate in our process.”

BIG UPDATE from Mayor’s office: “The city is neither receiving nor providing any funds related to the work of ‘Milwaukee Votes 2022.’ The group is privately funded, not-for-profit and non-partisan. The association…is limited to the Mayor voicing support for the work…”

This opens up more questions than answers.

Who is funding this grant? Is it more ‘Zuckerbucks?’ Did the City apply for the grant? What was the criteria to get it? Where did they get the list of whose registered or not? ERIC ? Did they pay for the list, if so, how much? What is this private group offering at the door? Is it offering $20 or food to register? What materials are being given to potential voters?

I am writing this article at 11:30 PM, it has been over 12 hours since this was initially Tweeted, and the Republican party leadership has been utterly SILENT. WHY WERE THERE NO REPUBLICAN lawyers mobilized this afternoon to stop this nonsense.

On top of this, Democrats in Milwaukee County are adding ballot referendums like whether or not we should ban AR-15’s and another ‘pot’ referendum up in the Valley, all in an effort to drive Democrat turnout. Even with this, the Republican party has no answer.

Folks, over the past couple of years there has been a lot of complaining about why the Democrats are able to get away with nearly EVERYTHING they try and they are winning elections because of it. They keep throwing things at us in an effort for Republicans to stay home, because, why bother? Right? Democrats play to win. Can we say the same about Republicans?

If you stay home believing your vote doesn’t matter, then they have already won. The fact is that there is only one formula to win; SHOW UP WITH ENOUGH NUMBERS TO OFFSET THE NEFERIOUS ACTIVITIES.  There are no other options. As we showed in 2012, it is possible, we’ve done it before, we can do it again.

Until then, call your Republican leaders and pick up the pressure to get them off their butts and do something, lest we get outflanked again.

Let’s get this done!

UPDATE: To their credit, Speaker Voss and Don Millis have released a statement today. We must hold their feet to the fire.
