This past Saturday, there were several high-profile County Party Caucus meetings that took place. One of them, Waukesha County, was scheduled, but suddenly had to be postponed at the last minute.

Of course, some people in opposition to current Chairman, Terry Dittrich and his leadership team, took it upon themselves to attempt to paint a tone of ‘incompetence’ coming from Dittrich. NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH.
The opposition simply had a knee-jerk reaction devoid of any facts.
Much to the chagrin of those who oppose Terry Dittrich, this was NOT a Waukesha issue, the issue was a technicality based on RPW dragging it’s feet. On January 27th (with weeks to spare) the Republican Party of Waukesha County submitted a new Constitution to the RPW Constitution Committee. Plenty of time to approve five pages, right?
According to Republican Party rules, members must have ten days to review. Unfortunately, RPW did not approve the FIVE PAGE Constitution until February 24th. With the Caucus being on the 25th, this did not allow for the Ten day rule. Unlike Democrats, Republicans follow rules, the Waukesha County leadership team postponed the Caucus.
The RPW Constitution Committee has taken full ownership of the issue. This begs the question though, why did it take literally four weeks to approve five pages? FIVE! But that is a whole different story.
Here is the statement last night from the Republican Party of Waukesha County Facebook Page bring clarity about the delay:

A few weeks ago I wrote a column talking about the incredible success Waukesha County has enjoyed with Terry Dittrich at the helm, and I questioned the necessity of the challenge. Yes, people have the right to challenge any Republican Party leader, but why against someone with a solid track record?
Last week, we saw proof of solid numbers continuing to come out of Waukesha County with the Supreme Court Primary results. I wrote about that as well. Waukesha County is SOLID.
I have just found out that the the rescheduled time for the Republican Party of Waukesha County is now on FRIDAY, March 10th, at 6PM. Make sure to be there, as only those present and are members in good standing will be allowed to vote.
